报告人简介： 张黔博士于2005年9月加入香港科技大学，现任综合系统与设计学部署理主任，腾讯工程学教授兼计算机科学与工程系讲座教授。她还担任微软亚洲研究院-香港科大教育部联合实验室主任、华为-科大创新实验室联席主任、科大数字生活研究中心主任。在此之前，她从 1999 年7月起在微软亚洲研究院工作，担任无线和网络组的研究经理。张博士在国际领先期刊和重要会议上发表了400多篇参考论文。她是50多项国际专利的发明人。她目前的研究兴趣包括物联网（IoT）、智能健康、移动计算和传感、无线网络以及网络安全。

  张黔博士 IEEE 会士（IEEE Fellow）和香港工程科学院院士 (HKAES)。张博士曾获得麻省理工学院TR100（麻省理工科技评论）世界顶级青年创新者奖。她是何梁何利创新奖、中国青年科技奖、国家自然科学二等奖（第三贡献人）获得者。她在多个国际会议上获得最佳论文奖。

张黔博士于2020 年至 2022 年担任IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing的主编（Editor-in-Chief）。她目前是 IEEE Infocom 指导委员会成员。

报告摘要：Sensing is an effective means to connect the physical world and digital space. Exploring the intelligent sensing capability has drawn researcher’s great attention. It is quite excited to see in recent years, besides wearable sensing, people have also begun to explore the acoustic, wireless signal, light, and other ambient communication medium’s capability for sensing purpose.

In this talk, I will introduce some of our work related to how to leverage the wearables and the communication medium's sensing capability to enable smart healthcare applications, especially focus on home care scenario.
